Discover the Rabaçal River Beach, located at 10 kilometres from Valpaços, it is the ideal place for a family swim.
In the municipality of Possacos, about 10 kilometres from Valpaços (Vila Real district), lies one of the most popular river beaches in Tras-os-Montes (northern region of the country). The success of the Rabaçal river beach is due to its perfect conditions: the beach is clean, not very crowded and surrounded by nature. The water temperature is good and the beach is supervised during the summer season, so you can swim in complete peace of mind.
Located right in front of the Rabaçal river beach, it is the ideal place to enjoy all the pleasures of the beach for a few days. The camping park is very well equipped, with a reserved area for pitching a tent, but also with bungalows for 4 or 6 people. It is the perfect place to meet with family or friends.
The beach also has a bar, picnic area, children's play area, showers and changing rooms. Also good to know, the beach allows water sports such as rafting, canoeing and fishing.
To get to the beach it is very easy, just take the A4 and exit towards Valpaços on the N213. When you reach Valpaços, turn right and follow the direction of Possacos. Then stop before the bridge of Valtelhas over the Rabaçal river, there you will find the Rabaçal river area.
The river beach has a free parking where you can leave your car safely.
The beach is supervised from 15 June to 15 September, but is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.
Going to and swimming at Rabaçal river beach is free. There is a charge for ancillary activities such as the camping park and pedal boat hire.
The beach is accessible for people with reduced mobility and water wheelchairs are available, so that everyone can enjoy swimming.
After enjoying the peace and quiet of Rabaçal's river beach, head to Valpaços where you will find many monuments to visit. For those with a sweet tooth, don't hesitate to visit one of the town's restaurants where you can taste the famous feijoada à transmontana. I have personally tasted it and it is a real delight.
