Guide of Algarve region (Faro District)

In the heart of the Algarve, a region located in the very south of Portugal, the district of Faro is one of the most popular of the country. Between the year-round sunshine and the fine sandy beaches nestled between rocky cliffs, it has everything to seduce vacationers.

The postcard image of this district would not be complete without the famous "Ria Formosa" Lagoon. This natural park has wild and surprising landscapes, between land and sea. The lagoon is home to approximately 30,000 birds, including migratory birds, which can be easily observed by visitors.

If you like beaches and swimming, the district of Faro is for you: it is undoubtedly the one with the most beautiful beaches in Portugal.

Best time to visit the district of Faro

In the Faro district, the weather is good all year round! It is a very pleasant area to visit in all seasons, although it depends on your vacation plans. If you want to enjoy swimming in the ocean, summer is the best season. On the other hand, it is also the most touristy time of the year. The months of May/June and September/October are therefore a good compromise to enjoy the heat, while being more peaceful.
